Ridiculous. The opposite is true as seen by Australia's history. Remember 'populate or perish' - that was the very definition of 'xenophobia.' It was a PRO-immigration position. You love your nation and community and want to preserve it. It is not driven by fear, but affection. In contrast, many people who publicly take up pro-immigration positions do so because they fear what people may say if they come out as anti-immigration.
