Aristotle

Aristotle strongly influenced the Stoics and his virtue ethics aligned with Nietzsche views to a large degree. He was a realistic, naturalistic philosopher who still is of incredible value today.

The Soul - what is it?

Generally when religious or ancient philosophical texts refer to 'soul' they leave the concept vague. The Soul is the brain reflecting on itself and the world, or simply 'reflecting'. In amusing Kierkegaardian-Hegel-pisstake language, it is 'the process of the self relating to the self.' Aristotle's notion of soul is a bit different, but that peculiar notion will definitely discussed in a later post.
